No matter how long you've been married at some point in time the commitment is going to be tested, but in the middle of testing, you'll find an opportunity to grow closer together.

I'm John Fuller joined by Dr. Greg Smalley and his wife Aaron.

They lead our focused marriage department, and Greg seasons you've seen couples learn to get

closer in those seasons is there an example or two that comes to mind yeah and it's evidence that

God is true in what he says,

which is when we go through hard times, trials, tribulations,

these difficult seasons, that he will grow us,

he will bless us, he will give us something and that's a promise that we can hold on to.

It makes me think about, there was a couple that we were talking to that went through infertility and just

ask him you know what did you know what how did it got to show up in that now and

now you're looking back on that season and it was great to hear them talk about, well, for example, how we grew is that

we were able to grieve together. There were moments that that was really hard and confusing, but looking back they were like man we just leaned in in

in whoever it whatever they were expressing whatever you know, was happening in that moment, we just

leaned in.

We cared and that drew us together, that grief together facing that.

They talked about, you know, as they explored options,

we did that as a team.

In other words, we were really clear

that we're only gonna move forward

with an option if we both feel good about that.

So they grew in how they made decisions.

They even talked about, we realized pretty quickly through that experience that we needed
