I'm Detective Sergeant Wally Zients, and I'm here to tell you about season two of Break

in the Case, a true crime podcast produced by NYPD Studios and supported by the New York

City Police Foundation.

For the last ten years of my career, I worked in Manhattan Night Watch, an exclusive team

that investigates all the homicides and high-profile crimes between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m.

Over the course of my career, I saw many cases that were solved and many that weren't.

And that's the theme throughout the second season of Break in the Case.

We'll tell stories about everything from the city's sole homicide on 9-11.

The Twin Towers just fell a couple of hours ago and we're still going to work on a homicide

this night like this is insane.

To how the emergency service squad once stood down a 400-pound tiger.

We were joked with the late tours when we came into work that morning and they were like,

hey you guys are going to get called for a tiger job.

And we were like, all right, it's time for you guys to go home, unload the trucks,

enough with the pranks and the jokes.
