where we get to welcome back one of my favorite guests, Coach Cody Alexander,

0:22.9

the man the myth that has not just talks, not just coached, but written the books about

defense and someone that has taught us a lot over the weeks and months we've had them on.

0:35.6

Cody, how you doing, man?

0:37.0

Doing great. Thanks for having me on. Yeah. What are you up to this time of year? What's going on for you? Yeah, just working with Field Vision, trying to get our products better in the offseason, ready to go. And then also with match quarters, I'm just every week. I'm studying a different team and then putting out content as we go. So by the time we get to September, I should have covered all the defenses in the NFL and some of the top college defenses. So that's what I'm kind of working on in the offseason. Well, you know, before we get into the specifics on Seattle, and we've got a lot to talk about there, what are some things you're noticing as you're getting in and doing your offseason research and deep dives? Are there trends you're noticing?

1:15.2

Are there there nuances that are starting to come out of on the defensive side of the ball,

1:19.6

cross football? Yeah, I think people are really playing around right now with kind of having multiple rooms within a room.

Demarcus Lawrence is not an edge.

1:37.1

He doesn't drop into coverage.

1:38.9

But you sign him.

1:40.0

So what does that mean for Seattle?

1:42.2

What does that mean trend wise?

1:43.5

Well, you're seeing a lot of times now that we want to have kind of these big, I call them big fives, right? They're kind of your hand in the dirt. Miles Garrett's a great example. DeMarcus Lawrence is a great example. But then you have guys that are edges, right, that are able to drop into coverage. Hybrid type guys can do different things. And so we're kind of seeing seeing this seeing this again like within the safety room being able to play we we've always had these down

2:05.9

safeties these box safeties what do we do with them now right being able to do this and I think

2:09.7

we're kind of headed into this era of total football to you to steal a sock return of kind of

2:15.5

that we've kind of talked about positionless defense i don't

2:18.4

think that's going to happen just guys you're not going to line up a guy like a 200 pound corner at

2:24.8

edge right but what we're seeing now is is these roster building of trying to really when you
