Ave Maria Radio presents Christ is the answer with Father John Ricardo.

One of my favorite things to do as a priest is to journey with our brothers and sisters as they explore becoming Catholic in the RCIA program.

The oddity is that oftentimes those who come into the church are the best educated Catholics that

there are. It seems that what we need is something like R-CIA for Catholics, for those of us

who have grown up with the faith and have never really learned it. So I invite you to join

those coming into the church as they learn about the beauty of our faith and hope as well that

it will help to draw you ever closer to the God

who is truth and love.

I think I said last week that I would be interested in opening up as we started tonight to any

testimonies that anybody might want to offer. If in fact you took the last week to pray in a new

way, whether it was in front of the Blessed Sacrament or tried to do a prolonged period of time.

And I'm always struck by, you know, when we step out in faith and actually share something that the Lord's done in our lives,

it kind of verifies for other people what he's doing in their lives.

So for me personally, I know whenever I hear folks encounter the Lord in front of the Blessed Sacrament, it just kind of encourages me to realize I'm not totally nuts that when he speaks to me,

it might actually be happening because he speaks to all of us.

I think sometimes we hear things when we pray, and we're not quite sure if that's God or not,

and it's oftentimes it takes something like this, the sense of somebody

giving testimony, to verify for us and to give further credence for us to think, you know what,

that's exactly what happened to me. And then that helps us to grow in confidence. So if anybody's

got anything at all they want to share, I want to open up tonight by letting that happen.

I felt the same way you did, Father John, when I hear testimony, I get excited about my own experiences.

Last week I sat down for the first time and lit my candle and was ready to go.
