One of my favorite things to do as a priest is to journey with our brothers and sisters as they explore becoming Catholic in the RCIA program.

The oddity is that oftentimes those who come into the church are the best educated Catholics that

there are. It seems that what we need is something like RCIA for Catholics, for those of us

who have grown up with the faith and have never really learned it. So I invite you to join

those coming into the church as they learn about the beauty of our faith and hope as well that

it will help to draw you ever closer to the God

who is truth and love.

On this 14th edition of this RCAA for Catholic series, Father Ricardo continues a four-part

sub-series on prayer.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Father, we do praise you for the gracious gift of life and for the blessing of this day.

We thank you for the change of seasons.

We thank you for the beauty of creation and the splendor that we see all around us.

We thank you for all the blessings that we've experienced throughout the day, our work and our

conversations, our prayer, the many ways that you've made yourself known to us.

As we approach the month of November, we want to thank you tonight in a special way for the

gift that is the saints, our brothers and sisters in the faith who have gone before us

and are now home,

who inspire us by their example and pray for us and encourage us so that we too might run the race
