Today we are featuring an excerpt from the Commune course Political Hope with philosopher,

teacher, public speaker, and author Charles Eisenstein.

This course was filmed during the last election season of 2020 and still

offers potent insights into why real political change can feel so elusive and what we can do about it.

According to Charles, it has become obvious that no matter what country you live in,

politics are frozen that the left and the right, the Democrats and the Republicans,

or whatever it is in your country, are stuck in a holding pattern incapable of doing anything

but perpetuate an increasingly degraded version of the status quo and that this holding pattern

is maintained through intense polarized positions on almost every issue. So while I don't agree with

Charles on every particular political issue or policy or candidate, I do agree with him on the dangers of our persistent

echo chambering. So we'll be jumping into day seven and eight of this 10-day program. So I'll just

give you a bit more context. Here's a quote from Charles about the course. No matter what tweaks we come up with about different voting

systems or different representational systems, none of that will matter if the basic

climate remains the same, which means that anything you can do to change the psychic

emotional relational social climate is part of a political change as well.
