Hey deserving listeners, I thought I would answer patron emails, so here we go.

I was a troubled teen. My parents tricked me into coming in for family therapy. They knew I wouldn't

agree to it so they figured they would they wouldn't tell me until I got there.

The therapists learned what had happened and cancelled the session.

Mortified by that experience since, I viewed therapy as a negative thing or an unnecessary thing.

Now in my almost mid-30 30s I've been thinking about seeking help. My family

physician suggested I try CBT therapy. Four years later I still have a

struggle to look into it.

I find it especially hard because there are so many professionals out there

and choosing one is incredibly daunting to me.

I have trust issues and a heap of doubts. Can you provide some

general perspective and maybe some updates on some key things to look for

or is it just a trial and error thing and of email.

Yeah, I get a lot of emails about this, particularly lately.

A lot of people trying to hire me as a therapist.

If you're about to do that, just understand that my practice is full and probably will be for years to come.

My clients currently have been long term for a long time and will probably continue to be.

And if anything, if even if I did have a client terminate

with me, I suspect I wouldn't take new clients because a lot of you have become a patient
