Good morning. This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast. Today's tip is to choose a recipe of the year. Pick one recipe that you'd like to get

really confident and efficient at this year, and lean into making it whenever you can.

Long-time listeners may have heard me mention my sister-in-law's roles. They are delicious. And any time we have an extended family dinner, I know she will be bringing them.

You may also have heard that my best of both worlds co-host, Sarah Hart Unger, makes a fabulous

key lime pie.

She makes that pie.

Anytime she is asked to take a dessert dessert to a get-together.

Do you have a go-to recipe, like rolls for my sister-in-law, or key lime pie for Sarah?

If not, this could be the year to find one.

Maybe your friends and family will start to look forward to the dish, too, just as people look forward to those one. Maybe your friends and family will start to look forward to the dish too,

just as people look forward to those rolls and the kilan pie. To choose such a recipe,

think back to when you have needed to produce something a little special. Maybe it's a dessert

to take to dinner parties or an app to serve when you have people over,

or a suite to send for bake sales at your kids' school.

You might consider a recipe you have made once or twice and liked mostly,

but want to tweak, or at least get better at.

When you decide on a recipe of the year,

you want to make it often enough that you come to know exactly how long it is going to take.

You'll know exactly what you need and what serving pieces tend to show it off the best.
