The Apex on the Abyss presents The Chasm, Episode 2, The Kobe Child Murders.

Kobe, Japan, March of 1997. A young school girl is bludgeoned to death with a steel pipe. There are no suspects as of yet, and the area is quite shocked by the murders of this 10-year-old girl. Fast forward to May of the same year.

A jaddler at a special education school called Tanyo Hata Elementary found the decapitated head of June Hayes on top of the

entrance gate of the school. Upon further examination, there was a note shoved in June's mouth,

and it read, This is the beginning of the game. You police guys stop me if you can. I desperately

want to see people die. It is a thrill for me to commit murder. A bloody judgment

is needed for my years of great bitterness. Who was doing this? Who was attacking these children

and murdering them? From February until June was found, there was also three other attacks

on young girls. They had either been struck with hammers or this assailant

attempted to stab them. They know that the police found in June's mouth would not be the only

words from the killer that the public would see. On June 6, 1997, a letter was sent to a newspaper

in Kobe Japan. Within this letter, the writer would state that he was responsible for the killing of June

Hayes and that more killings were coming.

A second letter would arrive soon after and state,

Now it's the beginning of a game.

I am putting my life at stake for the sake of this game.

If I'm caught, I'll probably be hanged. Please should be angrier and more

tenacious in pursuing me. It's only when I kill that I am liberated from the constant hatred

that I suffer and that I am able to obtain peace. It is only when I give pain to people that I can
