Buying a house is no easy task. It can be stressful, and it can be exhausting. But it can also be

a lot of fun. It's a big financial step for a person, but instead of becoming overwhelmed with the whole process,

I tried to look at it with a more positive and adventurous outlook when the time came for me and my husband to purchase one.

I have to be honest, though, the stresses easily melted away due to the realtor my husband and I had.

Her name was Lindsay, and she has a very warm and outgoing personality.

I want to say that we went through at least 20 homes before we found the one that we bought,

and along the way we saw some real, let's say, winners.

Two houses stick out vividly in my mind.

The first was a small starter home, one story, two bedrooms, one bathroom.

A very simple home for a couple that really didn't need much. My husband, being in the construction business, noticed that something was odd when we were walking through the house.

It had a long garage that was attached to the left side of the house

running parallel to the garage there was a sort of enclosed patio that led to the backyard.

I remember my husband opening the garage and walking into the enclosed patio and walking all

the way around to the garage again. He looked perplexed and he kept going back and forth

between the two.

Finally, after about his third walk-around, I asked him what the hell he was doing,

to which he replied,

There's a room in between the garage and the patio, and I can't find a way in.

Upon further inspection, we noticed a window into a dark room on the patio.

It was pitch black in there, so we had no idea
