Summary

One of the primary tasks of a leader is to create a healthy culture with healthy teams. For Christian leaders, this task is even more demanding because the kind of culture and teams we create are to be radically different than those of the world. Pete builds on the four characteristics of emotionally healthy culture and team building from The Emotionally Healthy Leader, expanding on each with personal examples and specific ways he has integrated them into his work over the last 23 years.

0:16.0	This is the primary, perhaps the most important work of leadership, that is building a healthy
0:22.9	culture and team out of which the whole ministry is done. And this is one of my favorite topics.
0:30.7	I just, it's such, it's so central and key to building healthy ministries and churches. And so,
0:37.1	again, the thesis of the emotionally healthy leader book,

0:42.9	is that your inner life is what's
0:45.8	going to determine and inform all your outer work

0:50.6	So your inner life, we broke it down
0:52.6	and to face your shadow in previous podcast,
0:54.9	and lead out of your marriage or singleness, slow down for a loving union, and practice
0:59.3	Sabbath delight. And these pillars or pilings, we talked about in building a skyscraper
1:05.4	must go deep into your inner life because they're going to inform how you do things like
1:09.8	build a culture and build a healthy
1:11.7	team. So we're talking really here about the integration of a deep spirituality into the work
1:19.3	of leadership related to culture and team building. So there's just so much to talk about in this topic.
