They were scheduled to appear on special coverage of the White House correspondence dinner,

courtesy of myself. It feels like just an hour ago, I was standing there on the red carpet going,

man, this is going to be a hell of a show. Didn't quite work out that way. We were, of course,

there on site in the presence of an assassination attempt on our president.

We'll give you the full color on what it was like to be there, what the path forward happens to be.

And perhaps even on a lighter note, I'll give you some color on my trip to the White House last week.

I had a one-on-one audience with the president.

We talked comedy.

The one thing we did not talk about was people leaving the elevators unguarded at a presidential speech at the Washington Hilton.

That's stupid. Use your common sense. It was almost deadly. We're thankful, obviously, that it is not. And the president, to his credit, says we're doing this damn thing again in 30 days, all hands on deck.

That is pretty much the mantra of the president.

It's the mantra of this show every day.
