Bang. So happy Monday. And what a bizarre Monday it happens to be. Last week, just so we're all on the same page.

I had missed Thursday's show and Friday's show in anticipation of covering the correspondence dinner live for three hours.

We went to the White House. We were going to film a bunch of content of me interviewing, you know, various members of the

cabinet and, of course, our correspondence, Jackie Heinrich and Peter Ducey, and we were going to

walk the White House grounds and tell a bunch of jokes. And I am grateful because I got to do all

of that. I even got to hang out in the Oval Office with the president. But again, this was all

in anticipation, a long buildup to what is going to be the

biggest broadcasting night of my life. Wrong. Didn't quite work out that way. So we were probably,

I'm going to, if I get the timeline wrong on this, I don't know the exact minute the shooter was apprehended, but there was a window when we

wrapped up on the red carpet, okay, which is the process of everybody loading into the room.

When that wrapped up and President Trump was seated and the military band had played and everyone

had fully made it into the room for the actual dinner to begin.

I left the red carpet area where I was scheduled to be broadcasting for the next three hours,

and I went into the ballroom to just get myself a roll.

Like I just wanted, I legitimately wanted to eat something because I was going to be live on the air for the next three hours.

So I legitimately went through the magnometers and told the security guards that were emptying my pockets.

Hey, I'm not going to be here long. I actually have to do three hours of coverage. I'm the only guy in TV who actually eats.

So you might see me once or twice tonight going back and forth for some carbs during the commercial breaks. And we had a bunch of laughs. Well, probably a minute after I walked through those mags,

the gunman came charging through those same magnometers. Got a shot off that hit a Secret Service

agent in the vest. Thankfully, he was not hurt or harmed and they fired return shots at the

attacker only for someone to tackle him and apprehend him into the lobby now while that was happening

and i had just entered the room like literally a minute a couple of minutes earlier i don't know
