no time to waste. This episode comes hot on the heels of the UK Parliament

being the first in the world to declare an environment and climate emergency. There have also been

declarations of climate emergencies, no, not environment, by the Scottish government, the Irish

Parliament, and the Welsh Government quickly followed up by the Welsh Assembly.

This follows on from 59, and I think still counting, local councils that have already made similar declarations.

We have to act now to save the environment for the sake of humankind.

Today we're going to look at two major reports that have landed with an almighty thump in the past fortnight

and consider what we now know that we didn't know before, particularly as the government in the UK

has to respond in six months to the Parliament's declaration of an environment and climate emergency.

Yes, this was a longer waited, or at least waited for several months, a report from the

Committee on Climate Change, which is the independent advisory body in the UK on this important

issue. The government had asked the CCC to re-examine the UK's climate commitments in light of
