Summary

One of the best ways to make progress in a language is to use the language with native speakers and to check your understanding by asking them for feedback. In lesson 26 you’ll put what you’ve been learning recently into practice by asking ¿Lo he dicho bien? and other phrases using the perfect tense. Please note that lesson 26 of Season 2 was originally known as lesson 226 of Coffee Break Spanish. We have renumbered the lessons of each season as lessons 1-40 to make things more simple for our listeners.

This season of Coffee Break Spanish features a total of 40 lessons, all of which will be included in the podcast feed. Just stay subscribed to the podcast to enjoy each episode. Welcome back to Coffee Break Spanish. Now in this lesson we are still looking at the

0:15.7

perfect tense. We'll round up everything on the perfect tense in this lesson and at

0:20.3

the end of it you should be absolutely comfortable with when to use the perfect tense and how

0:24.9

to form it. Indeed, also how to form the irregular past participals of some verbs. I hope

0:31.3

you find the lesson useful. So let's go back to that lo he dicho bien. Literally, that

0:41.9

means lo, that, he dicho. Have I said or I have said bien? Well, so have I said that

0:50.1

well? Lo he dicho bien. Lo he dicho bien. Okay, so dicho comes from which verb? The

0:58.7

fear? The fear to say. So dicho is an irregular past participal of the fear. Lo he dicho bien.

1:07.3

How would I say to you Karra? You've said that correctly. Lo as dicho bien? Exactly. Lo

1:16.3

as dicho bien. And if I wanted to say he has said it correctly? Lo adi cho bien. Lo adi

1:25.2

cho bien. Exactly. The lo each time stays the same because it's a, it's referring to an

1:29.8

impersonal thing. Lo adi cho bien. He or she has said it correctly. Now let's change

1:36.4

this slightly. If you're checking whether you've said something correctly you might want

1:40.5

to use the verb pronunciar. Pronunciar. Watch that is pronunciar. Pronunciar. Okay, and

1:51.0

in Latin American Spanish obviously that would be pronunciar. Pronunciar. Now what would

1:57.0

that mean? To pronounce. Exactly. Pronunciar or pronunciar means to pronounce. And it's

2:04.2

a regular verb. And therefore the past participal would be pronunciado. Pronunciado. That's right.

2:16.3

Pronunciado. Pronunciado. So if we say I said it correctly or did I say it correctly? Is

2:26.6

Lo adi cho bien. What would be did I pronounce it correctly? Lo eh pronunciado bien? That's

2:38.0

it. So let's just practice this. How would you say did I see it correctly? Lo eh dicho bien.

2:45.0

Uh-huh. And did I pronounce it correctly? Lo eh pronunciado bien. Lo eh pronunciado bien.

2:53.9

Okay, now one other thing here that I could suggest is that if you were writing something
