Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

It is, of course, back holiday Monday, which for me is just like every other Monday, an opportunity to do what I like doing best,

and that is talking to all of you and listening to all of the interesting things you have to tell me.

And this morning will be no different. We awoke to another month stuck in the rut of lockdown,

of course, but with a few pieces of good cheer to buoy us up and to feel optimistic about the future.

After all, they can't keep us indoors forever, can they?

Thousands of people were out celebrating the weekend, from Newcastle to New Key, from Leeds to London, from Liverpool to Lanzend.

football fans invaded Old Trafford in Manchester and managed to get a game cancelled. Congratulations,

well done, absolutely brilliant. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab refused to confirm that all

lockdown restrictions will be lifted on June the 21st, and it could be that we might all be supposedly going to wear masks for the rest of time.

Well, I don't think so, Dominic. I don't think I'm going to be wearing a mask after that, even if you want me to.

It's as simple as that. There is no reason why. If there is no COVID, which there doesn't appear to be at the moment, why we should all be wearing masks all over the place?
