Good morning, Mike.

Thanks very much indeed for joining us.

Now, let's kick off with some of the state of the economy that we're hearing about this morning,

because we keep hearing that there

are more and more places in Britain where there are hardly any cases whatsoever of COVID, where

there literally hasn't been a case for weeks and weeks and weeks where nobody's died. We've got

so much immunity now in this country that it's almost as though we could return to normal. And yet we

still don't seem to be.

No, we aren't.

And I think a lot was given away by the Prime Minister the other day when he said that actually it was a lockdown that was responsible for the fallen cases as opposed to the vaccination program.

That basically torpedoed the government narrative to date, which has been that once we're vaccinated, they'll be able to open up the economy,

and we can go back to normal.

And I don't think he torpedoed it inadvertently.

I think it was a deliberate attempt,

because this government now, whether it started off like this or not,

this government now is hooked on a sort of diet of scaremongering,

control and simultaneous subsidy of the British people, you know, through the scheme

and the bounce back loans and all that sort of thing. And so you have a government that's kind

of wet nursing the British people. And I think the reason for that is because they are fearful of what's going to happen when they unlock the economy.
