what has been your journey through life that brings you here?

Well I'm a political scientist as you said and I just was a journalist before I left

journalism and went into the academy and ended up here in

beautiful Portland since I'm from Western Canada my wife from California so

this was more or less than midpoint.

And I work in comparative politics, international relations,

international development issues, and I'm best known because I wrote an article in 2017 called The Case for Colonialism, which apparently I was not supposed to write because apparently that's offensive and there is no case for colonialism.
