It's a great pleasure to welcome Conrad Black, distinguished biographer, writing in the

National Post of the imminent election in Canada.

Imminent.

Monday the 28th, the people go for the remainder of the vote.

There's early voting, and so the voting has been underway for some days.

However, the issue turns on the liberal government, now in place, led by Mark Carney, a central banker, is it to continue in office?

This would be historically significant, as Conrad has taught me.

This would be the fourth straight term for the liberals, which has not been done for many,

many decades.

At the same time, the conservatives who have a strong representation in the parliament and in the very important province of Alberta

are led by a young man, Pierre Pellevro, who is a sophisticated and practiced parliamentarian.

Mr. Carney is not.

However, the policies are everything, so I welcome Conrad to help us. Conrad,

I understand this vote is for four or five-year term, and the expectation is that Mr. Carney

is in the lead in the polling so far. However, there's a distinction that I need your help to make

to my audience, which is it is possible for Mr. Carney to win outright a majority of liberals in the parliament.

But it is also possible for Mr. Carney to not win a majority and enter into a minority government.

What does that mean and how does that change the vote on Monday?
