And Conrad's columnist week introduces me to a fact about Canada

I did not know existed which is that the Trudeau government has something called

the Court Challenges Program and as far as I can see this is a

promise by the people that is the parliament to pay the law tab on challenges to what you'd have to say interpretation of conduct by the

government. Conrad a very good evening to you. The court challenges

program was discontinued by the Harper government.

Why?

Because they thought it was essentially an assured move to the left beyond what had been legislated by Parliament and

and the you know if the people want to move to the left they should really be obliged to elect

left-wing MPs to do it and that what this was in effect was a way of taking whatever laws were adopted by Parliament and distorting them to the left.

And that effectively was undemocratic that was their position and the

it was there there was never a huge issue and so it wasn't a great controversy but the public

showed no signs of disagreeing with that view but the the Trudeau government is

it's not an extreme government by any means but it is certainly a left-of-centered

government and and their view clearly was this is precisely why the

conservatives repealed it is why they wanted to put it back in place, which is

this takes things farther to the left without us as members of parliament or the government sitting in parliament having the
