Hi everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Let's Talk Yoga podcast. I always start with

something like I hope you're doing well. And this week I really mean it. I know the COVID numbers are

rising like crazy across the US and even Canada from what I hear and everything is barely open and it's closing again.

And I'm just thinking of all of you, especially to some of our listeners in New York State.

I know that studios haven't been able to open since March and is getting really, really challenging for so many of us.

And not just yoga teachers, but small businesses in general.

So just thinking of you.

And I hope you're doing whatever you can to take care of yourself in whatever way possible.

Okay.

So just wanted to start with that.

Now, speaking of today's episode, my guest is Colin Hall. I discovered

him recently when I stumbled upon his podcast that was made in collaboration with Yoga International

and it's called the Yoga History podcast. Colin has an extensive background in religious study and philosophy. He works as a professor

at a university and he's a yoga teacher and runs a little yoga studio up in Canada. So usually

when we think of history, right, we think of it as being dry boring lectures but collins podcast really surprised me he has this

amazing sense of humor and he tells stories throughout his podcast and the day i heard episode one

of the yoga history podcast i knew I had to have him on.

I was looking for someone who would help weave the journey of yoga in America or North America.

And what that transition was like, what happened in the last hundred years, I was just curious and I had a lot of questions.

And Colin was perfect for this. I have been laughing listening to his podcast and he packs so

much great information and research into it. You have to give it a listen. I'll link it in the show
