Hi everyone. Welcome back to the Let's Talk Yoga podcast. In today's episode, I chat with Dr. Krista Kubari from Yoga Alliance.

She's the VP of Standards. And I reached out to Yoga Alliance because I wanted to talk about this whole transition of yoga teacher trainings going online and what they're doing to really just keep the standards going. So I had a really

fun conversation with Dr. Krista about the updated guidelines, the direction they're taking for

2021 and what happens after 2021. So I think this interview is actually something that you as a business owner or teacher will benefit from.

Now, before this interview, I've always had a love-hate relationship with yoga alliance.

I've been guilty of beating up on them publicly for not doing enough.

And when the mics turned off, Dr. Krista and I were talking about this.

I was sharing this with her.

And she did tell me how in the past yoga alliance did not do enough.

However, all of that has changed in the past two years.

They've had a change of leadership.

They are now moving from what was more of a transactional interaction

that a lot of us members had with them to one that is facilitating a lot more community and

listening to the community and roping the community in this whole process. So I was pleasantly

surprised to see this new bold direction that they're taking.

And also, you know, honestly, a little more positive about yoga alliance after listening to all of them.

And Dr. Krista talks about it in today's interview.

The one thing I'd like to say for us teachers and studio owners is sometimes we're also

a part of the problem, right?

Like I used to only sit and complain that they don't do this, they don't do that.

But if we just reached out and said, you know, I'm having issues with this, this, this,

yoga alliance usually, usually will respond or will connect you with people who can help.
