And today we are going to kick off a week-long discussion about really patience and resilience and how to cultivate patience and resilience in good times and in bad.

0:26.2

Both are needed no matter where you are at any given moment. Today's episode is going to focus on

0:32.9

exploring the question that I've seen a lot. It's very popular on social media. It's inspired some

0:39.3

incredible reels and TikToks. And some are humorous. Some are inspiring. And that question is,

0:47.7

can we skip to the good part? Today's episode is all about me making a case for why we shouldn't skip to the good part and what we

1:46.0

stuff will finally happen when I'm an adult. And if only I could go back to young Kelly and tell

1:51.6

her, girl, no. Because when I became an adult, a young adult, I started thinking, can I skip to the

2:00.0

good part where I'm already in the

2:02.4

career I want? I already have the children I wanted and have the partner I want. Can I just go

2:08.6

ahead and skip there? And the thing about that mentality when you're stuck in it, not when you

2:15.4

occasionally dip into it, but when you start cultivating a

2:18.8

lifestyle of wanting to skip to the good part is you miss out on things. And we're going to talk

2:25.3

about what you miss out on when you skip to the good part as a way to anchor into the conversation
