I can say with some confidence that I will not

be embarking upon a monologue quite as long as yesterday's this morning. I don't know if you were

listening, but I think we broke all records. And I think we were required to, because we were

looking at the frankly abominable attempt by Boris Johnson to absolve himself of all blame

for the offences that would have

seen him, suspended from the House of Commerce, for we think now 20 days, the Times has

had some sort of a butcher's at what the privileges committee is likely to report, and we may

dig into that a little later. But the person to whom I'm going to draw your attention first this morning, somewhat surprisingly

perhaps, is Nadine Dorries.

And, I mean, really, it's almost as if she is a lens through which we can examine the current

national malaise.

She also claims this morning that her failure to get into

the House of Lords, or I mean, she blames it all on Rishi Sunak's refusal to let her have a kind

of special dispensation on getting into the House of Lords so she can accept the peerage now,
