so it felt pretty on-brand when the news broke last week that they were firing head coach Robert Sala.

They started the season two and three, but where does this rank on your what moments of the last three decades that you've been covering this team?

Well, I mean, it's unprecedented.

I think everybody's heard the news, I just want my opening statement is that this is one of the most talented teams that has ever been assembled by the New York Jets.

The change that we made today that I made,

I believe will bring new energy and positivity that will lead to more winds starting now. The Jets had never fired a coach in season over the last 25 years and

it's up there I mean I was sitting in the auditorium the day Bill Bellichette walked

to the microphone and said I'm residing as the

HC of the NYJ.

Due to the various uncertainties surrounding my position as it relates to the team's new ownership,

I've decided to resign as the head coach of the New York Jets.

I was there when some fans were flying planes over the practice field saying they needed to fire their GM John It'sick.

You know, it was the early part of practicing them there and I looked up and I'm like,

oh man, we know why our fans are frustrated.

They had every right to be frustrated and disappointed in the way the season is.

There's no question about that.
