Hello and welcome to not another one on this very exciting day. We're recording on Tuesday where the Chancellor of the Exchequer has surprised the country with an economics speech in the run-up to the budget.

This is quite unusual, so we thought we would reflect on that for you.

And also we've had a week where Nigel Farage has made a big speech on reformers economic plans.

It seems as if everyone wants to get on board and convince the electorate that they have the right plan for the economy.

So that's what we're going to discuss.

And it's all four of us today, which is a total joy because we have seemed to have turned the autumn into a sort of holiday season.

You've had a bit of a funny, funny week, haven't you?

I have, I have, yeah.

I've probably just, yeah, I had a funny week,

but I think perhaps just before we get into British politics,

the other news of today is that Dick Cheney has died.

And just to make it all about me for a moment,

I once had breakfast with him.

I was at this heritage foundation event,

this American think tank event, and he came and sat next to me just at this breakfast.

And he started quizzing me about British history. Oh, God. And he knew much more about British history

than I did. And so when I heard about his death today, I thought, well, at least no one will ever be.

He'll never talk about how I knew so little about British history.

Okay.
