Hello, welcome to Not Another One, the podcast with me, Steve Richards, Tim Montgomery, Miranda Green, Ian Martin.

We're all in the studio, and that in itself is a cause for

minor celebration. No more than minor. Now, you know one of the themes will be exploring. It will be

inevitably the BBC. But there's huge amounts going on at the moment. And here is a pledge.

Like all pre-election pledges might not necessarily be met,

that we will also reflect a bit on what we now know about the budget coming up in a few weeks' time.

Because we do know a bit just by analyzing what's out there in public

as well as following things behind the scenes. But inevitably, we're going to talk about the BBC.

Now, before we begin, I know from all of you that you will have heard and watched a lot already.

So what we're going to try and do is analyze some of this stuff in a different way

and try not to get to the point where Tim and Ian say it's a bunch of lefties,

me saying they're terrified of the right and that's what determines a lot of the output and Miranda

navigated you might have just said that now

What I wanted to explore at the beginning is how it has got to this level of just the fieriest new story in town. Tim, when this all began with a Michael Prescott

leaked memo or whatever it was called, which I've read in full, it's worth reading in full.

It's a deeply flawed document in my view.
