I'm Chris Bedford, senior editor of the Federalists.

Joining us today is Mark Meckler, the president and founder of the Convention of the States,

an organization that's been working for the past a number of years to get the different

United States on board with a constitutional convention, something to try and change

our U.S. Constitution, something generally unprecedented in a way that they think will

make the country a lot better.

So you've had a couple of states that have joined here.

We need 34 states in order to hold together a convention.

And in the last month or so, we've had three new ones joined.

Wisconsin, Nebraska, and then West Virginia.

And as you pointed out, it looks like there maybe we're going to be getting some action

in South Carolina in the next two weeks.

With the Senate having just voted yes, sending it back to the House just to make sure that

everything is still good.

You need 34 to get here.

But what is the goal here of the Convention of the States?

There's a lot of different folks out there.

I think some of the common wisdom that has been said over the years is that this would
