Absolutely.

I want to start with something that you wrote recently.

You say, and this is as it pertains to Congress's attempts to send aid money to Ukraine,

you say, in addition, this is a reminder that when an emergency occurs, it is better to

have one's fiscal house in order, as to be able to pay for unexpected needs without adding

to the country's already large deficits.

This is essentially important when inflation is already raging as a result of overspending

and a too accommodating monetary policy.

I want to break that down point by point because it covers so much ground.

It's ground that a lot of people actually are not covering at all or talking about because

it does seem as though the fiscal issues get put on the back burner anytime understandably

so there is an emergency, but can we start with your first point about the aid money to

Ukraine, its effect on the deficit and why emergency situations sort of highlight how messy

our fiscal houses at any given moment basically.
