On January 7th, Jake Godin started hearing that something bad had happened in Minneapolis.

There was this incident, and immediately we start looking for video to see what is out on that.

Jake works for Bellingcat, the investigative journalism group that specializes in open source

intelligence. One of the things they do is forensic video analysis.

Jake saw someone on blue sky posting that they were near whatever had gone down.

And he said, a witness has shared a video with me, I'll upload it momentarily.

He uploaded it, and then we could start to understand what happened.

What happened was that ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Good.

Jake and his colleagues started working to build a fuller picture.

What I wanted to do when I first saw two videos come out, the one on Blue Sky and then

an additional one, I wanted to try and build a map just to show what happened, just to

give everybody who's, because the news is coming out like super quick.

So to give people an idea of how did this unfold, what can we tell from the videos that

we have, which are two videos shot from the same side of the sidewalk, where people were

standing, where the vehicles were, and, you know, what happened in immediate moments before

the shooting.

And because there's a lot of, there were a lot of claims already coming out.

Then, a few weeks later, Jake did the same thing,

this time for Alex Preti.
