colleagues. Now we turn to discussing the fate, the future, the promise of the governor of California,

Gavin Newsom.

The White House is now open in 28, and the governor of California comes with two things, California

and California, a major, major factor in the Democratic primaries and certainly

would put him in a good position for the electoral college. However, Bill, a very good evening

to you. The governor is not as popular as he was, but he's won three times, and his term limited out in 26, and the expectation is he will take that conduct, the success of two terms in California, and presented on the national scene, and that will easily persuade all of the Democrats to fall in love with him, and he wins.

What's wrong with this picture? Good evening to you, Bill.

Good evening, John. There are two things wrong or problematic with that picture.

Number one is the idea of California being the equivalent to Norma Desmond, and I'm ready for my close-up in 2028.

If the 2024 election

told us anything, it was the public cringed at progressivism on steroids, and that is California

right now. So I'm not sure how good of a cell California is to the nation writ large as an example

of what the country should be. The second challenge for Newsom, the second problem, John,

is that he is one of many

aspirational Democrats right now who want to be seen as the it girl of the party, if you will,

the next best thing. Now, give Newsom credit in this regard, John. You've seen in the aftermath of

the election, governor after governor, lawmaker, after lawmaker, going in front of the cameras,

Democratic lawmakers, I should add, and all kind of doing their best imitation of Charlton Heston at the NRA, not over my dead body

when it comes to our blue state policies and daring Trump to come after them on matters like
