Chapter 13 Billy September 10th, 2023 Billy

September 10th, 2023, 33 days before.

Alex has magic hands I decide as he presses against me, his fingers tracing the inside of my thigh.

Liquid light filters in through the slatted blinds dappling our skin.

Before last night I hadn't slept with anyone in ten months, not since Dean, an accountant I went on four dull perfunctory dates with last fall.

We had sex on the fourth one, and only because I thought I should.

I hadn't liked anyone in ages, and I thought doing it might make me feel something. out of my apartment, claiming he needed to get home for night seven of a two-week teeth whitening regimen.

I think we both knew we'd never see each other again.

It strikes me now as Alex plays with the hem of the oversized t-shirt I slept in, how much better his touch

feels than deans. Then anyone I've been with and longer than I can remember, maybe even better than

Remy's. I close my eyes a potent pressure weighing in my

stomach at the thought of Remy my last and only serious relationship. A blurred

image of him appears in my mind, not brown curls, light gray eyes, taller

than Alex but Lanky, missing his strength.

I push the image of Remy away and grip Alex harder as he draws his hands higher, running

them up my thighs. I didn't sleep in underwear so it's easy. He slides two fingers inside

me slow at first. I let out a soft moan and fall back

onto the pillows pulling him down with me. The sex is so much better this time.
