I'm sick of the Gorton and Denton bubble that has a death grip on British political discourse.

You know, Gorton and Denton centric news cycles. That's what people have been talking about for years.

It is weird in politics that every once in a while a place just becomes the focal point of

everything. It's a bit like Workington Man. You know when they get an election coming around and

they decide a certain kind of person is going to decide it. Suddenly these trumped-up so-and-sos,

I've never used that phrase, from Gorton and Denton, parading around thinking they're the kingmakers. Yeah, it'll all be over by Friday, lads, right? Brief moment in the sun for them. Well, I mean, it's good to have you on because you, we hadn't really worked together at all, I don't think. And then you came on a Times radio show. Yes. And I don't if you remember, but I was a bit nervous because I don't know this guy's vibe. Just I watched one of your clips and it was quite rude. And I was thinking, this guy could say anything. But, you know, you kept it off-com friendly then. but obviously we have a bit more freedom on the podcast.

I'm context dependent, so I'll be led by you on the level of rudeness. Just go through it. I mean, the only thing is I do not know at all, and I don't know. Like, how old are you? I am 33. But there's a hunch that I've got that you might be both those things, but also find woke people irritating as well. How close am I? Well, I think as someone who's broadly on the left, I also am annoyed by other people on the left on a daily basis because I think that's an integral part of it. Yeah, yeah, well, because the thing about people on the left is you've all been told off by people on the left. That, you know, that's quite funny. That's increasingly happening on the right now as well, though. There's this ideological purity thing. I don't know if if you saw this it was um but there was a post that went viral and there was a lady and i think and i'm not just

climbing into the restore britain thing every week but she did have that in her her biography and what

it was was there was a guy whose dog had shat somewhere brilliant start. Right. So you're thinking,

where would this go?

This is right. That is the sign of Britain's broken, right? Just dog shitting everywhere and people not picking it up. And there was a guy that came there. I'd say he had sort of West African heritage. He was wearing a kind of like official like work for a company and he was issuing a fine because the person didn't have a poo bag with them. And it had been shared as in, why are these foreign people issuing fines?
