Hello and welcome.

So the Gorton and Denton by-election has happened. It's done. People of Gorton and Denton. You were famous for weeks and now you've got to get back in your box. But I'll tell you what, the way you voted will go down in history because the Labour Party, the Labour Party, who could we? Only we could beat reform here did not beat reform there. And someone else so that's kind of tricky isn't it for keir stama yeah is there a letter somewhere wilting gently um but yeah maybe keir stama he also visited keir stym he also visited the constituency which was a sign i think that they thought they might win and stama wanted to kind of bask in the afterglow a little bit. But that didn't really work out. So I was just thinking, is there other stuff that Keir Stalmer could visit to kind of put the kibosh on it? Maybe when the Australian cricket team come in next summer, could you pay them a little visit, Keir? Could you as well? And that football team in Buckinghamshire that stole my club? Anyway, we're going to pick through all of that. I want to talk about the Green Party. Stunning victory, really, you know, but also, you know, these allegations that were circulating about family voting and duress. And, you know, also what this all means for the main parties. I mean, the Tories lost their deposit as well. I mean, losing your deposit is, it's just kind of embarrassing, isn't it? I know that the toys are never in the run in there, you know, and that won't necessarily be the picture elsewhere. I don't know. Maybe, hopefully not. But losing your deposit is a bit like, I was just wondering if there's a comedian's equivalent, like if there's a level of occupancy.

Like if you do the Edinburgh Festival, I mean, actually there fucking is an equivalent of that.

1:51.3

Because you have a venue guarantee.

1:54.0

If you don't sell enough tickets, you then have to pay out of your own pocket.

1:58.2

I think I might have had to do that once.

2:00.5

I think in maybe 2009, you stump up all the money for all the promo and then you have to

2:06.2

write them a fucking check at the end of it. You're paying money for the privilege of having

2:11.8

done something for a month, which literally depressed you. So yeah, we'll talk about all that

2:16.2

stuff. Response to a previous episode, a very good feedback for Milo Edwards debut, which is great. I really rate him, man. He's a really interesting comic. And next time he's on, we'll unpack his history because in the patron-only section, people would have known that he started doing comedy in Russia and got very famous in Russia. So we'll definitely have him back. Some people took his shoe in a good-natured way with his assertion that reform want everyone in Britain to be white. I mean, I think I did counter that a bit in the moment, but I would also say that we're comics, you know, we exaggerate. Hyperbole is our thing. And there's probably been many comics and many left-wing listeners that

2:51.6

have sat there while I've said various things about, you know, left-wingers, they've got no sense of money. You know what I mean? They just want to tax people more, you know, like they're lazy. They don't get their podcasts up on time. So, you know, I would just add into it that hyperbole is a part of what we do.

3:06.2

And to that end, I also got some feedback

3:07.6

about my take on the John Davidson

3:09.7

BAFTA N-word thing, where hyperbole is a part of what we do. And to that end, I also got some feedback about my take on the

3:09.0

John Davidson Bafta N-word thing, where I said, but you know, and I took on board what people

3:14.8

were saying. I wasn't saying that he should have left because what he said was the N-word. I was saying

3:19.6

that personally, I might have, you know, I would, I would just, the fear of what would happen in that sort

3:26.1

situation with an audience of millions might have meant that I didn't go. But I didn't,

3:29.2

what I didn't realize was that it was his film about his life. So of course he's got to be there.

3:34.4

Do you know what I mean? Of course he's got to be there. And when I was talking about,

3:37.9

when I was talking about, you know, it interrupting the jokes, that's just pure
