| 0:22.6 | the grocery store and as I headed down the aisle with all the sweets and candy and chocolate, |
| 0:29.9 | I was a dad with his young daughter who was having an absolute meltdown and it didn't take long to figure out what was causing this meltdown as I overheard the sobs and the screams. |
| 0:43.2 | But I really wanted, I really wanted and the dad was clearly trying to comfort her but it was evident that he was also trying hard not to just give in and it brought back so many memories of me and my twin sister giving my parents a really hard time |
| 0:59.5 | over things we really wanted. As we get older though, we can't really throw temper tantrums about the things we want in life but don't get but we can show our frustration or anger through our words and actions which can be really problematic. |

| 2:31.8 | But is it truly serving us? Where are these wants coming from? What is driving us to be attached to particular outcomes? |
| 2:41.6 | I think it's helpful to explore this topic as it's surprising how often it does surface in our lives. |
| 2:49.2 | It could be as simple as wanting to buy a certain pair of jeans because they're all the rage. |
| 2:54.8 | All the way up to wanting to get a certain job and if we don't we will have somehow failed. |
| 3:01.6 | Now this doesn't mean that we shouldn't work really hard for the things we're passionate about but we can do so in a way that feels inclusive of others around us. |
| 3:11.8 | We can lean into those qualities of connection, community, of sharing our knowledge. |
| 3:19.2 | Knowing that our well-being and happiness is intrinsically linked and intertwined with the well-being of others. |
| 3:27.6 | Being in a wanting mindset also takes us away from our present moment experiences. |
| 3:33.6 | We're too busy thinking about all the things we don't have and we can't really see what we do have right in front of us. |
