Summary
There has been a lot of chat in DMs and on email about habits in the last few weeks, so I thought it’d be a good idea to take a look at the ways in which you can feel out whether a habit is right for you.
We’ve all had to adjust this year, with varying degrees of restrictions and lockdowns but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to weave new and helpful habits into our new normal.
In this episode I share the six strategies that I think can help you make a habit stick or, perhaps more crucially, how to tell if it’s just not for you, including:
- Starting small and easing your way into whatever it is you’re trying.
- Giving yourself a timeframe.
- Attaching your new habit to something you already do and enjoy doing.
- Keeping a visual log of your habit as you do them.
- How a little accountability can help make a habit take root and give you a sense of satisfaction from day one.
- Figuring out what might get in your way before you begin so you can plot a course around, or through, it.
As ever, I’d love to know what you think whether that’s in the comments below, on DM or via email. I make this podcast for YOU and if there’s anything you’d like to hear on this subject, or any other, please feel free to let me know.
