Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on a magnificent Monday edition of the yard. It's a beautiful day in Starved. It's a little chilly. It's about that time of year. It's November. It's November, which means we've got a couple of home games this month, and we've got a trip of Georgia. We go to Ole Miss. It's crazy. We were so eager to get

0:25.1

into the season and hadn't gone quite the way that we planned, but we're already at the

0:29.0

halfway mark. I, like many of you, thought we'd be losing ball games, 56, 42, something like

0:35.1

that, didn't expect the defense to be very strong because we

0:38.0

were so young.

0:38.6

And that's not to be disrespectful to the coaching staff or the players.

1:00.7

I mean I'm listen things are not good okay I'm not gonna sit here and suggest to you that they are

1:04.2

because they're not they're not good we're not playing well on both sides of the football

1:08.9

defensively I think the effort is there. I think the execution is there for the most part, but there are sometimes when things don't work out quite the way that we hope. But let's be honest with ourselves. We all expected to go to Tuscaloosa. We all expected to lose the ballgame handily.

1:14.1

We all expected to come back home feeling bad.

1:30.1

All of those things worked out.

1:32.4

We checked every one of those boxes.

1:34.0

And many of us, I think, expected us, I think probably the pessimistic Mississippi State

1:37.5

fan thought, you know what, we'd probably be

1:43.3

two and three at the half point, at the halfway mark, maybe three and two.

1:45.7

Then after we beat LHU, we began to revise his expectations.

1:49.9

We start thinking, you know what?

1:53.0

We'll beat Arkansas because we always beat Arkansas.
