Later than I wanted to be, I got hung up yesterday doing some research, kind of a distraction, to be honest with you.

There are some things in Bulldog baseball history at times that kind of rubbed me the wrong way, and I get kind of curious about them.

I'm going to get nosy, and I want to know what's going on or what happened or why things happened a certain way.

I did all that research and I don't know it didn't match my premise.

I couldn't get to where I wanted but I didn't want to waste all the research so I wrote an article that took a few hours to write.

People think it's all so glamorous. It's not. There's a lot of times

you do a lot of work, you don't get a lot to show for it. So I decided to do an article today about

a look back at the last hundred years of Bulldog Baseball Coaches. So you can read that for free

over at jeanspage.com. What's interesting too is you may not know this. I don't know that I

knew this until I really looked into it. I kind of suspected and heard. You know, duty noble was a

phenomenal athlete at Mississippi State. He lettered it in 14 varsity letters and four sports.

It's football, baseball, basketball, and track. He did it all. Then he went to work

at Mississippi College. He was hired a way to coach basketball and football at Ole Miss. And then,

you know, we hired him. We did. He came in here and ended up being an athletic director. But,

you know, we named our baseball field after him him and it was like two years into the

Paul Gregory era and Gregory of course played for Duty Noble and Paul Gregory of course

lettered in football basketball and baseball a multi sport athlete here and was not a great basketball coach. We hired him after he finished

up his major league baseball and pro baseball career and some time in the U.S. Navy, we hired him.

He came in here and coached basketball for a while and was not good. He was not good.

Matter of fact, his final season, he won two SEC games.

And I guess Dirty Noble just, you know, hey, maybe the right thing to do is let's move him over to
