It's been a crazy year. It's been an incredible year. And Sports Spectrum, again, over a million

downloads of the podcast in 2023. And just so grateful to all of you for your support of this show as we keep Jesus in the sports

conversation.

Today, we're going to continue looking back at some of our favorite episodes from 2023 and one

that still stands out.

And I think it will stand out maybe forever in my life as long as I'm doing work like this, certainly in the media

space, was from February 10th, 2003. We were down in Phoenix, Arizona. We had a chance to go to

Brock Purdy's house in Arizona with his mom and dad and sit down and talk to Brock Purdy just nine days after he had

lost the NFC championship game at Philadelphia when the Eagles beat the 49ers and Brock got

that injury in his elbow, ended up having surgery.

And what a conversation it was just talking about that amazing rookie year, finding joy after

his injury and staying rooted in Christ.

And now you look at what he's done here in 2023, heading into 2024.

And I mean, the 49ers are one of the favorites.

Let's be honest here for the Super Bowl next year in a month or so.

And Brock Purdy's having such a great season.

It's just been awesome to watch him do what he's done and certainly staying humble, staying focused on Jesus.

So I just wanted to bring to you this conversation, partially because Brock's obviously

having a great year this year, but also because I want you to keep in mind when we talk

to him, it was eight or nine days after he had just lost the NFC championship and suffered
