So coming up, I've got a terrific one-on-one with Martin Fletcher, a long time correspondent

for us in the Middle East here at NBC News.

He's retired, but his, the war has touched him personally.

He's had family members kidnapped.

The first couple released were members of his extended family,

but he still got folks that are being held captive in Gaza right now.

But he's got terrific perspective and his historical knowledge and his

years of reporting, I think you will come away with a better sense of

understanding where this is going, what are the various realistic scenarios of what the end of this war looks

like and all of that.

We're going to get to there.

I do want to briefly, though, before we get to Martin, talk a little bit about what we're watching and the politics of what we're watching right now.

There is, it's certainly, I think there is a sort of a social media obsession.

There's a few people I think that are trying to find, trying to be outraged,

looking for ways to feel outraged about the actions of fellow Americans.

I'm not talking about what's actually happening in the war.

That's an outrage.

What Hamas did is an outrage.

But the search for protesters, if you will,

and I'll just tell you this.
