So as the NFL draft kicks off this week,

some are encouraging players to stay focused on the sport to avoid political statements on the field

after a previous season of a lot of outward demonstrations

of political thought that we have seen on uniforms and on playing fields,

former Hall of Fame quarterback and Super Bowl MVP.

It's great to have you here.

Well, thanks, Martha, for having me.

You know, I just, I'm thinking about you, you know, back in college in Mississippi

and the draft rolls around and every year at this time, everybody gets excited to see where

these players go. And I wonder what goes through your mind when you look back on that moment for you

back in college and you look at these young players as they approach that same moment in their careers.

Yeah, you know, it's in some ways similar to being a kid.

And if you can remember back to Christmas Eve and then that morning of Christmas Day,

you know, that good anxiety or excitement that was built up inside.
