The Lawful. The long-awaited verdict in a trial that put the nation on edge has now been reached.

Former Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts in the murder of George Floyd. He now faces decades behind bars and opens up a conversation in all of this about race

and policing, which has been ongoing in America.

Leo Terrell, a civil rights attorney of 30 years, has been following this case along with us.

We were in Minneapolis together at the start of the trial, and he joins me now for the untold story and the backstory of all of the dynamics that are

going on right now. Leo, great to have you with us today. Thank you for being here. My pleasure, Martha,

anytime. So, you know, I want to start with the reaction that we heard from the White House yesterday,

because there's two tales here.

There's what happened in the courtroom and the 12 jurors who evaluated the case and listened

for hours and hours and hours and weeks, in fact, to both sides.

Then you have sort of the narrative that exists outside of the courtroom.

And there's definitely a feeling that that narrative on policing needs to continue beyond

this trial, given some of the other situations and cases out there.
