What most impulse. Hello. If you're new, what most news episode, if you're new to the podcast, every so often you have to do a breaking news episode because the whole world has moved on in leaps and bounds since whatever I said earlier in the week. Well, there's been a lot since, hasn't there? I mean, let's just go through it. Just tease some of the subjects coming up. We've got, we had, well, Donald Trump threatening to, I can't remember where he threatened

to, he threatened to buy Greenland, but he didn't rule out military intervention. I mean, we shouldn't

laugh at this stuff with the Donald. But I don't know, he's sort of like a sitcom character

doing his catchphrase, which is suggesting something that appears mental, but might have

some logic underneath it.

The UK economy is tanking again. Gilts have gone up. Gilts have gone up. The pound has gone down. Apparently you can have one of those things, but not both. So we've got both at the moment, which is awesome. And when we talk about Rachel Reeves and how her plan is going. And there was also fiery PMQs this week as Kemi Badernock and Keir Stahmer squared off talking about the call for a National Inquiry into grooming gangs. And look, I'm going to say, like part of the point of any topical comedy is to take the piss out of power. But I'll say straight out, I thought this is a really good PMQs. And maybe that's just the side of what a sad little nerd I've become. But I was, I came out of it thinking,

well, maybe not all politicians are total shit. You just got to remember where we've been,

where we've come from when it comes to PMQs. Probably the low point, I think, was Theresa May versus Jeremy Corbyn.

That was awful, wasn't it? That was bad. You know, like our tennis sometimes has generations of players. That was the... You know the year that Stefan Edberg won Wimbled, I know Edberg was a decent player, but he wasn't, you know, he didn't have much about him. I would say that Theresa May versus Corbyn was the Stefan Edberg era of PMQs.

It was just her standing up just desperately trying to deliver

these these lines with charisma and humor i remember her first her first joke of pmqs involved

the punchline was something like does that remind you of anybody and she said it like

proper mistrunch ball style psychopath and then on the other side of the dispatch box was jeremy

corbin just reading out emails from his constituents such a weird time him just going this is from

marjaby from islington east it was like he was hosting some weird fucking local radio thing. But anyway, look, we're not talking about Jeremy Corbyn. We might even talk a little bit about Liz Truss who served a cease and desist letter on Donald, not Donald Trump, on Keir Stein would stop saying that she crashed the economy, which look, anybody that's listened to this podcast for a while. No, I do not think she objectively crashed the economy, but we'll also talk a little bit about whether or not, you know, this is the kind of road that we want to go down with politics, potentially suing each other. But the other thing as well is that there are people on the sort of liberal left that they want to do nothing more than talk about Liz Trust.

That was the best it ever got for them.

It was the most validated they ever felt about everything

that they've ever thought.

You know, when I was tweeting this week about the bad economic news,

I did a tweet saying that guilt yields are up,

the pound is down.

I thought, has anyone checked which room the grown-ups are back in?
