So let's go into our last and final chapter,

trying to piece together the madness that is Chad and Lori Fallow Daybell.

For Chad and Lori, reality was the enemy.

As long as they could control the narrative,

as long as they surrounded control the narrative, as long as they surrounded themselves with believers,

as long as they avoided looking too closely at the trail of destruction that they had left behind,

their vision of the world stayed intact.

But reality doesn't wait forever. And when it finally came for them, their entire belief system

collapsed like a house of cards. It started with the biggest problem of all in July of 2020.

For years, Chad had spoken about the date with certainty, the end of the world. It was the moment everything would change, the moment the world would be transformed,

the moment the righteous would rise and the wicked would be cast down, and everyone would go to

Rexburg.
