Hi, my name is John Kim and I'm a therapist who went through his own

0:06.7

rebirth. I share my feelings and revelations. I believe in casual or

0:11.0

clinical and with you instead of at you I come unrehearsed on

0:15.9

purpose because self-help doesn't have to be so complicated. So about 35 minutes ago I was laying face down getting a Thai massage. No it wasn't that kind of massage.

0:30.0

It was a deep tissue massage and if you do a lot of cross fit or workouts it's important to get massages once in a while

0:39.1

Which I rarely do so my body has just been wrecked so I got myself to the massage place and I had a

0:46.7

moment where I just had how grateful I am for all the things you know just thinking how

0:57.6

grateful I am for all the things you know and it's weird sometimes when you practice gratitude and

1:08.3

it's it's like sex where if you force it it's not good you know it has to come naturally and a lot of times I find

this list I feel like it could be feel for sometimes right but when you kind of

1:28.1

allow yourself and maybe because I was so relaxed or because I wasn't feeling stressed out or maybe it was the

1:36.4

tiger bomb I don't know what it was but I just have like this wave of

1:42.3

genuine gratitude I think that that's what gratitude really

1:46.0

affects you and I could like literally feel it in my body and even if it's for a second, having peace, having the belief that the glasses have full, having hope, having true optimism. And I think part of that gratitude was me appreciating just my

2:10.1

story you know I think a lot of us think about our stories and we focus on the

2:17.8

bad and what's not working we focus on you know the shit that that has happened and whatever you feed grows so if that is your focus

2:27.2

it's going to be very hard to be grateful right so I was focusing on how far I've come, you know, I was focusing on me coming out the other side. I was focusing on

2:42.1

having some freedom in my life finally you know I was focusing on just my own

2:47.4

journey emotional journey my my journey as as a as a writer, as a therapist, as all of this. And it just accumulated in this

3:00.0

like swell that turned into a wave of gratitude. So shortly after that I was
