Summary

Welcome to the Official Tone and Sculpt Podcast.

It's your girl Krissy Cela and we are embarking on a journey together. A journey of self-improvement and self-love because change can only come from you and for YOU. Join us each week as we explore different topics from nutrition to mental health, not to mention the amazing guests we have coming along.

For this week’s episode, I welcome fitness and beauty influencer, podcaster, nutritionist, author of her cookbook, and new mummy, Connie Simmonds. Connie is a straight-talker and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, which I love her for. She talks about being a mum and how improving her mental and physical health has allowed her to be a mum, there being more to life than a body fat percentage, the pressure to look a certain way on social media, getting back into fitness after baby and instilling strong values in her daughter.

It's your girl, Chrissycella.

0:05.5

And listen up, right?

0:06.6

I am so freaking excited to have this woman on my podcast.

0:12.4

She's honest, she's transparent, she's raw and better yet she is someone who I just absolutely adore.

0:18.9

I've known this girl for, I'd say about a good, oh my God, since the start of my career. Yeah. I would say, it is Connie Zimmer. Hey. How are you? That was so good. Thank you, thank you. I know. I'm good. I'm good. It feels good to be out and about. And why does it feel good to be out about?

0:38.7

You tell everyone.

0:39.6

I had a baby seven weeks ago. I know. And I just feel free being out for a couple of hours. I had a mint aero on the train. It was so nice. Because I rush all my food now, like, just in case she wakes up. Yeah. So I bought myself a minero and I just sat on the train and I literally like enjoyed every bubble.

0:55.4

I bet you were like smiling if you were like...

0:57.0

This is not an ad by the way. By the way, we're not getting paid by this. So please don't think that. But yeah, Connie's had a baby. And listen, I don't really like know much about being pregnant because I've never been pregnant and, you know, I'm not

1:11.6

really ready to have a baby if I'm being completely honest. I mean, if it happens, if it happens

1:16.5

and I'll be, yeah, I'm going to embrace it and thank the Lord, but I'm just not ready right now.

1:22.9

Yeah, cool. So I want to, the reason why I wanted Connie on this podcast is because I want to make sure there's a podcast for everyone. Yeah. And whether you are pregnant, planning on having a baby, post-pregnancy, pre-pregnancy, whatever, I just want to ask you as many questions as possible. Yeah, go for it far away. So, yeah, we're just going to be open and transparent. My first question is, did you plan her? Yeah. You did? Yeah, yeah, yeah. She was planned. I didn't know that. I'm, I've been broody since I can remember just from a very maternal family. Mum's one of eight. Mum's had four. And I've just always loved babies. So I knew I wasn't going to wait until my 30s to start because that's really common now. Um, uh, because women are just smashing it career wise, which is amazing. I wanted to do both and luckily working on social media, I feel like I can. Maybe if I did have a normal 95

2:19.3

job, it would be different. I'd have to consider a few things. And also, we were lucky,

2:24.5

we're lucky enough. I shouldn't say lucky. We worked hard for it, but we have our own property. So

2:30.0

I wasn't going to have a baby before that either. And it's all happened. It all happened by the time

2:33.9

was 25. So gave it a couple before that either and it's all happened. It all happened by the time I was 25.

2:35.0

Yeah.

2:35.3

So gave it a couple of years and I had Macy. I was 26 but 27 the next day. So I had it the day before my birthday. Oh my God. You're going to be the same star sign. You're going to clash. Oh my God. Probably. You're like, Taurus as well. We're so strong-minded and headstrong.

2:51.2

But, you know, I'll encourage that anyway in her.

2:54.6

Yeah. probably you're talking about how to us as well we're so strong minded oh my god but um yeah no

2:52.3
