Very good to be on your show.

Very, very nice indeed to have you here.

Now, there's an old adage, isn't there, in political sort of communications and PR,

which is that if you're the story for more than six

days, and I don't wish to bring the name of Alistair Campbell into this, but if you're the story

for more than six days, you know, that's a problem. And it seems to me that this story just is

not going away. And I'm not so concerned, as I said in the opener, about what Boris is alleged

to have said, whether he said it or not is of little

consequence to me. What of more consequence to me, though, is the 58,000 quid.

Well, I don't agree with that bit about being the story, Mike, because I think that when you

look at what's going on around the country, the SNP are in trouble in Scotland,

Andy Street is clearly winning in Birmingham, Sadiq Khan has got a problem with crime in London,

and there are council elections across the country.

So getting the Prime Minister to be misquoted or make up a quote for him to have said even though

he's categorically denied it and as you rightly said it's it's very helpful to know that the government

is going to stay on track with the covid uh pathway to freedom on the 21st of june you know

you can make up a quote about Boris and if you add the

word crumbs to it, people might believe it, but the reality is he didn't say it. So I think,
