just became mentors because the whole faith thing was so brand new to me. Then I went to college and I

kind of had one foot in and one foot out and I started to date a guy that was not good for me. And I came home

from college, and I met the Bible study leader for lunch. He would check in with me about once a

month just to see how I was doing. And I talked a little bit about that relationship, and he said,

Susie, you have more potential in your pinky than I do in my whole body. But I'm not wasting my time with you if you're going to waste your time with him. It's him or me. And I said, you. And I knew it was time to

prune that relationship out of my life. And it was a hard decision, but it was exactly the right

decision. We're talking today about necessary endings. Dr. McLeod, Dr. Cloud, Henry Cloud,

sorry about that, wrote this book. And I'm almost positive.

I talked with him about this book, many years ago when it first came out. But we're doing what we call

a book talk today. So I've invited my friend Shannon Velser on the show. And she read this book
