I love podcasting, but podcasting has a huge downside, a huge drawback. However, we're going to try and change that.

think I'm alone in this belief, and that is, podcasting is the most intimate form of communication, media available.

So back in the 60s, there was a guy named Marshall McLuhan. I think he was a social scientist.

He was really interested in the relationship between different forms of media and those

And after studying this, researching this, he declared, determined that TV was cool media and not in the sense of groovy.

Radio was warm media.

And what he was actually getting at was the relationship between the media, those who were in the media, and those who were either watching

or listening. And the connection between TV and its viewers was, it was there, certainly

there's a connection, but it was more of more distant. It was cool.

Radio, on the other hand, was more intimate. The connection was deeper. It was stronger.

Between those on the air and those listening. And I've been in radio for decades and have experienced this firsthand. Many times

station. I listen all the time. You feel like your family, like one of the family. And of course,

our response is, that's awesome. That's great. Now, who are you? It oftentimes felt very one-sided.

But here's the thing with radio. Listeners could call us. We got a phone in the radio, listeners could call us.

We had a phone in the studio, they could call us.

Now, the percentage of listeners who actually did that, took advantage of that opportunity,

was very small, but it was always there.

And we were always getting phone calls.
