curate the famous Forbes lists and learning more about who and what actually makes those lists.

Today, I'm speaking with Carrie Dolan. She's the assistant managing editor of Wealth at Forbes.

Carrie, thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. Now, this is an interesting position you've

got here because you cover both Wealth and philanthropy, which I didn't necessarily connect immediately.

But now that we look at guys like Bill Gates, a standby on the list, you see that rich people

sell them get away without giving away a bunch of their money, especially on his watch.

Exactly. I mean, Bill Gates and his good friend Warren Buffett are on a mission to try and

encourage as many billionaires as they can to give away half of their net worth in their lifetime.

And that must affect the list. And we'll get into that in a little bit as well,

because I would imagine cutting a check for a billion dollars here and there can ship away at

one's net worth. Yes, it definitely can make a difference in the rankings.
